At work today, I encountered a cookbook for a gluten-free, casein-free diet. The title as it appears on the title page is innocuous enough. However, the title as it appears on the front cover is Special Diets for Special People: Autism, ADHD, Asperger's, PDD: Recipes, Vitamins, Diet Plans, Supplements: To Improve the Eating and Digestion of Children and Adults!
Wait, read that again . . .
To Improve the Eating and Digestion of Children and Adults!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
We're eating and digesting children and adults?!
To Serve Man! It's a cookbook!
Soylent Green is people!
I'm sure it's a fine and useful book and all, but the author and publisher really should have chosen their words a little more carefully.
